I have never felt pain like this over a painting. I had a show up in maryland for the month of July. Evidently it was well recieved. The 6 foot painting in the show had the most attention. See Remembrance in my Pics. A man, Gary decided to try it out in his loft for the 4 days after the show came down and before the paintings could be picked up. He wanted to buy it because of its colors etc. Well he tried it and it "wasnt the right size,not big enough" he wanted it a foot taller and longer.

So, I am crushed, not just because I did not sell the piece, more so because of the buyer, my "public" likes my work because it looks like it might fill a large wall, my art is wallpaper. He even said how the colors matched the carpet... yea.
I don't like that my paintings are being bought to fit certain spaces, or not. I want to sell a piece because it's a great piece, It's beautiful and it's concept inspires someone. The painting was about the girls earliest memory, how it has shaped her and still effects her. This piece was extra important because that is where my thesis is heading. towards memory. It is my gateway painting, one that I am very proud of, and for someone to reject it because it needs to be a foot taller hurts like hell!

I just called work to try and get out, the manager isnt there so I'm just going to numb myself up and go. my chest aches. I feel sick. i am broken hearted.
